Black Bear hunting help?
I am considering taking a trip from Florida to Georgia for a black bear hunt using this outfitter: http://www.angelfire.com/tn/farner/bear.html
But the thing is I am on a tight budget, do you think 2 days would be enough to bag a black bear from a stand? Or do I need to hunt more days? The way they hunt is still hunt using burn sticks and sow bear urine as an attractant.
Thanks.
I learned the hard way on a dream hunt I undertook several years ago. I went to Alaska to hunt Caribou and according to the guide, 4 days was plenty of time. On arrival, the heards had shifted their route and we did not se a single set of horns for the entire 4 days. Luckily I was able to extend the hunt by 3 more days and moved to another location. I bagged a pretty decent ‘bou the next day. My suggestion, plan for 2 or 3 more days on the hunt. that way if you do score early, you can fish etc for the rest of the time and just relax. If not, you have those extra days to hunt.
